Okay, at today's meeting we cooked a meal for our volunteer CPR trainer, Mary Cambron. A BIG 'Thank you' to MEGAN for helping us cook even though she was not certified at the same time as us.
This weekend we will be putting out fliers for the food drive. We will meet at the church at 9:00 am. The following weekend we will be picking up the food meeting at the same time and place.
Our Christmas party will be held on December 19th at 6:00pm. It is a White-elephant-pot-luck. In other words, bring a gag gift and some food. We will eat and then do the gift swap. There are a few rules for this:
1) Bring FOOD
2) The food cannot be macaroni and cheese.
Also, Michelle seems to think we need to set up a place for the party. If there are any volunteer houses, they will be welcomed.
For our December activity, we are adopting a family. This means we will be putting together a Christmas package for a local family. Michelle will e-mail the details to us later.
All for now.

Calling All!!!
OCTOBER 24!!!!! Michelle needs to know who's going to be able to do the haunted tent ASAP. We're going to need everyone! The tent and everything else will be set up at 10 AM day of the haunted house.
We need ideas and tactics to scare. Send them to us! Don't keep them to yourselves. Your idea will spark someone else's!
Also, WE NEED A NAME! We can't be the Bucks anymore. There are only girls nowadays (except Jonathan).
As a Venture Crew I feel we need to branch out a bit more and help others (besides the BSA). We're running on the same schedual every year and there are some activies that the Nature Institute needs help with, LCCC Professors and Organizers are talking to me about the projects they need help on. We really need to get out there.

Today's Meeting
Camping at Nilo will take place this weekend. Please be sure to eat dinner on Friday night before you go out there. The 'Big Tent Set-up' will take place on the 24th. If you'd like to set up your tent then, you're more than welcome to. The menu for Nilo will be as following:
Saturday:
Breakfast- Biscuts and Bacon Gravy. Bacon on the side.
Lunch- Cold Cuts
Dinner- Foil packs. Hamburger meat, butter, potatoes, ect.
Dessert- Banana Boats.
Sunday:
Breakfast- Bagels and cream cheese.
There will be no camping at Rendezvous (Oct. 3). Instead we will be working shifts. The morning shift will be from 8-Lunch and the afternoon shift from Lunch to 4. We will be relieving other workers so that they can get a break.
Our next meeting will be held at the Luckers on October 4th at 4:00 pm. We will be disscussing scare tactics, CPR training, and any other official buisness.
We have decided that we will be doing a 'Haunted House' on October 24 from 6:30 pm- 9:00 pm. Any ideas are welcome. Remember, there cannot be any physical contact for fear of us getting hurt, and that this is for all ages.
CPR training will be held on October 25th at 2:00 pm at the Luckers provided our volunteer can come. Michelle is currently trying to work out a date and will notify us if anything changes. I will also post a message here.
Have fun at Nilo! I hope your foil packs turn out just right!
Julianna
P.S. Remember we need a patrol name stat!

Welcome Venturers!
Hello! I've just made ourselves a web page.
I will be posting events and meetings here so you can always check what's happening even if you can't make it to the meeting!
Today's Meeting:
We're having another meeting the 20th and will be discussing menu items for Nilo (September 25-27) and Rendezvous (October 2-4). If we are able to, we will also be taking a CPR course and making a dinner for the volunteer worker in thanks. This meeting will be held at the Lucker's at 2:00pm as usual.
On the note of camping, at Nilo Farms the Venture Crew will be helping to park cars on the 26th. You'll need to bring your own tent or set up a shared tent with another member. They will be setting up the big tent (and other tents as well) on Thursday evening.
Rendezvous will be held at Camp Warren Levis as always. We will be working at the branding station unless our help is needed elsewhere.
We are also looking for a new crew name. We have been called 'The Bucks' since the beginning but seeing as the crew has gone from a male group to a mostly female group we are looking for a new name. Preferably uni-sex. i.e.- the ducks.
The officers for the 2009-2010 year are as followed:
President- Julianna
Vice President of Activities- Rachel
Vice President of Administration- Megan
Secretary- unknown. (If you know who has this position please contact Michelle and/or myself.)
Treasurer- Samantha
We also welcome our (hopefully) new member Angela to the group.
If you have any questions or things you'd like me to post contact Michelle and/or myself. (Provided you have the information)
